Thank you to all who participated and made the 2010 competition such an overwhelming success.
On June 4, 2010 we received hundreds of amazing entries from over 40 countries around the world. The designs are innovative in both science and aesthetics. We were thrilled by the number and the quality of the ideas that were put forward. It could not have been a greater success.
It is gratifying to see that there are so many people who care so deeply about the health of our natural environment and the beauty of our constructed one.
A select jury panel consisting of 14 international artists, architects, academicians, industry leaders and writers reviewed the entries to determine a winner, which was announced and awarded the prize at the 2011 World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi (January 19, 2011) with the award ceremony taking place as part of the Land Art Generator exhibition at the Masdar stand.
Many of the designs are currently being posted on the Land Art Generator Initiative BLOG.
We are currently in the planning stages of the 2012 LAGI competition.

We are very pleased and honored to announce that the prize for the winning design of the 2010 Land Art Generator Initiative's (LAGI) first international design competition, held in the UAE, was sponsored by MASDAR.
Masdar is Abu Dhabi's multi-faceted initiative advancing the development, commercialisation and deployment of renewable and alternative energy technologies and solutions. The company serves as a link between today's fossil fuel economy and the energy economy of the future—developing the "greenprint" for how we will live and work tomorrow. Backed by the stability and reputation of the Mubadala Development Company, an investment vehicle of the government of Abu Dhabi, Masdar is dedicated to the emirate's long-term vision for the future of energy.
