    This networking site is intended to help facilitate connections for those people who are interested in participating in the LAGI competition, but need to meet others who can compliment their skill-sets. Anyone can join: writers, activists, artists, designers, scientists, architects, etc.

    When you sign up below, you will provide information about your discipline(s) and team status. This way people will be able to browse other users on the site by discipline and find people who are seeking to team up or add expertise.

    We encourage you to create a thorough profile and make use of the tools on the site. In this way, others will be able to learn more about you. If they think that you have something to offer their team, they can send you a message.

    Because we all don't have the time to get to know people from across disciplines in our daily lives, this site will help get scientists working with architects, working with electrical engineers, and landscape architects, and artists, and activists, and writers...

  • The 2012 Land Art Generator Initiative Site

    The 2012 Land Art Generator Initiative is taking place for a site in Freshkills Park (the former Fresh Kills Landfill) in Staten Island, New York City. Once the largest landfill in the world, Freshkills Park is in the process of being reclaimed into an urban park three times the size of Central Park.

  • The Competition Brief

    The detailed brief is now available on the competition page of the LAGI website.

    The call is similar to the 2010 edition and is intended to solicit ideas for a site-specific work of large-scale public art for Freshkills Park that is capable of contributing renewable energy at a utility scale to the city grid.

    There is $20,000 in prize awards money.
